Terrance is an experienced communications and marketing professional with over 20 years’ experience in developing compelling marketing campaigns for clients in the construction, banking, telecommunications and trade association fields.
Oakey is an expert in understanding how governments work and how the public interacts with them based on his over 15 years of experience in the public and private sectors.
He contributes to the public opinion practice by helping to develop questionnaires that get at the heart of what governments need to make decisions.
He is very skilled at distilling complex legislative and policy proposals into easy-to-understand questions that the public can provide meaningful feedback upon. His deep experience with policy makers means that he contributes to reporting of public opinion research results in a significant way by ensuring it provides the necessary information in the best way possible.
In the past he worked for the Retail Council of Canada where he served as Vice President of Federal Government Affairs. Terrance also worked for an international communications company and worked on the issues management team and on health policy in the office of the Rt. Hon. Stephen Harper. Oakey led the successful fight to amend Canada’s Labour Code and Income Tax Act to bring fairness to labour relations in Canada.
